"You are The Sun"

Got this from Pamy's blog & tried.

You are The Sun

Happiness, Content, Joy.

The meanings for the Sun are fairly simple and consistent.

Young, healthy, new, fresh. The brain is working, things that were muddled come clear, everything falls into place, and everything seems to go your way.

The Sun is ruled by the Sun, of course. This is the light that comes after the long dark night, Apollo to the Moon's Diana. A positive card, it promises you your day in the sun. Glory, gain, triumph, pleasure, truth, success. As the moon symbolized inspiration from the unconscious, from dreams, this card symbolizes discoveries made fully consciousness and wide awake. You have an understanding and enjoyment of science and math, beautifully constructed music, carefully reasoned philosophy. It is a card of intellect, clarity of mind, and feelings of youthful energy.

Vesak Day in office

Happy Vesak Day!!!

Working from 9.40am till 5.40pm, supporting countries for monthend.

Btw, it was still as cold as yesterday, hence wearing the same "winter wear" today.

Warm -> Very warm -> Cold -> Very cold

The air-con in our office was not working this morning & it was extremely warm especially in our printer room.

The air-con came back in the afternoon & we felt that it was colder than usual, so I wore my shawl in order to keep warmth.

Around 6pm, it was so cold that I have to wear my jacket & use my shawl as scarf. My colleagues laughed & asked "is it winter?" How I wish I have gloves too!!!

(Hiaz, imagine I can only leave office at 8pm & was sneezing like mad.)

Big snail

Another mountain tortoise act : Never see such big snail before (found in my kid's school).

Lost a bag of soya sauce, fish balls & minced pork

Bought dark & light soya sauce, fish balls, minced pork & a bottle of baby shampoo, the cashier put these items into 2 separate plastic bags. I brought them to the school to fetch my sons & to the childcare to fetch Allyson.

Upon reaching the childcare, the Principal spoke to me & I got to know that the childcare centre no longer taught Hanyu Pinyin. Why wasn't us informed? I have spoke to 汪老师 previously & the impression she gave me was she taught Randson hanyu pinyin but he confused this with the english alphabet & now I was told they did not teach 汉语拼音!!! Nevermind, I rest my case.

I returned home with all kids & didn't realised anything amiss.

The next morning, while brushing my teeth, I realised I forgot my bag of grocery (luckily, Johnson helped to carry the baby shampoo)!!! Went to check with the childcare teacher, she gave me a smile on the face, "Oh, the plastic bag, the Principal left it outside, thinking you will come back & collect... oh you didn't collect it?" Continue with another smile, "we are so sorry!"

What if I have left my bag in the centre? Will they put it outside? Hiaz... have I made the right decision???

Trip to The Cathay

After meeting the teachers, I made a trip to The Cathay to collect the Shrek 3 tickets. Wow, it is totally different from the Cathay which I knew, it is now converted to shopping mall cum cinemas. It is really like 刘姥姥进大观院!

Really not used to those dim dim light in the ticketing area & I rushed out of the place upon collecting the tickets.

Walked to Plaza Singapura & started my “shopping spree”. Though my kids didn't scored well so I decided to buy small gifts for them as consolution prizes since they told me they have put in their "best" effort. So I bought these toys for them in order to spend quality time together.

Meet the parent session

Finally the day has come!!! Took a day off to collect report books from the school, it was like playing musical chairs. Getting my kids to queue in their respective classes so that we can save time in queuing up one by one to see the teachers.

Started off with Johnson's class as it has the shortest queue & within the next 5 mins I got to see his teacher (relieve teacher as his form teacher is away on exam leave). He started by telling me he couldn't comment much about Johnson's behaviour as he is the relieve teacher (hiaz, now I know why the queue is so short). Luckily he failed 1 subject by 0.5 point whereby the teacher told me, they wouldn't adjust any marks for Mid Year.

Then we went to Nickson's class & I got a shock out of my life, Nickson failed 2 subjects & scored only 30 marks for Maths!!! Whereby we realised that the school make a mistake in the report book, he has scored 60 instead of 30, otherwise Nickson will get a "big" piece of my mind. Actually I didn't know the school will make this kind of mistake but anyway we are human, human do make mistakes.

Next station, Randson's class... ... all failed. His Chinese failed badly & his English & Maths are 48 & 46 respectively, though is borderline fail is still consider as failure. Must work harder ok!!!

Though my kids didn't do well in their studies (actually not bad already except their Chinese), I'm glad that teachers do give good comments about their behaviours in school which I'm quite proud of it. Keep it up, boys!!!

Maybe by keeping down my anger over the last few days, I didn't scold them on their results but we sat down to work out a plan on how to get this resolved, ie confirmed getting them a tutor to monitor/coach/make sure they STUDY!!!

Another trip to Tuas South Incineration Plant

This was our second trip to Tuas South Incineration Plant & this round we are familar with the processes. Heehee...go up the weighing machine, fill up form, throw rubbish & up weighing machine again & pay!!!

This round I really get to see the big big rubbish chute, I walked to the side of it & take a good look. Wow, it is like a dumping hole, all kinds of rubbish inside & of cos the "aroma" of it!!!

Won a pair of tickets to watch Shrek 3

Hippy, we won 2 tickets to watch Shrek 3 at The Cathay!!! After further discussion, Mummy will watch the movie with Johnson.

Johnson & myself were so excited as we have not been to the cinema for nearly 11 years (last visit was with Daddy when Johnson was only a few months old).

Don't worry to my other babies, Mummy will spend quality time with each one of you, you will get your wish fulfilled (be reasonable hor, Mummy got tight budget, lol).

"Spending quality time with your children"

Attended the above talk, the speaker suggested that we should spend quality time with our kids, to me quality time would mean sitting down with them & revising work with each one of them but in fact the meaning of quality time to the speaker is time whereby we are able to bond with one another (kids) & getting to know each other better.

I really wish I can do so but I'll try my very best to do this cos I prefer to bring all 4 of them out & enjoying ourselves as a family (hiaz, Daddy is always so busy with these outings).

Help... help... help

Have not recovered from my shock, I really have to do something about this. I told myself, I should spend an hour a day with each kid so that I can really pull them back to the track but I doubt my ability to do so, I am too tired.

Called Samuel but his schedule are too tight... & he is unable to help.

Spoke to Khim & luckily she agreed to give tuition to my kids...wow my saviour!!!

I am feeling much much better after she agreed to assist me on this.

2nd batch of papers

Oh no, another headache today, Randson got his papers, by looking at it, he seemed to fail all subjects (borderline).

1st batch of papers

I'm scared, my kids got their test papers (except Randson as his teacher is on leave) today. While going through their papers, my nerves started to tense up, they didn't do well, expecting to see at least a pass (50/100), however running through the papers seemed like they have failed some of the subjects, but will keep my mouth shut till I see their report books.

Mother's Day cards from kids

My kids drew these cards on the computer screen for me...

Randson was sleeping while they are drawing these so he drew me a separate card when he woke up. Really appreciated my kids' works.

Nickson bought a "rabbit" pen for me too.

Early Mother's Day celebration

Seems like everyone are so busy & most of the celebrations are celebrated before the actual day.

We went to Bali Thai (last minute decision on the restaurant) to celebrate Mother's Day with mum. The food here are not bad but the prices are on the high side.
Luckily mum was happy with the lunch as she felt that today's lunch is better than the one we had at Sakae Sushi.

Mother's Day present from Allyson

This is first Mother's Day present I got from Allyson, the childcare teacher taught her to make the jelly & wrapped it up in a fancy bag. There was a tag which she wrote "I love U"!!!

Thank you Allyson, it is very nice!!!

Last paper today

Hippy... ... today is their last paper. No more torturing revision ... ...

iSqueez as Mother's Day present

Brought mum to Osim Roadshow at Tampines Mall yesterday as we intend to buy her OTO Tataki which is similar to Osim Upapa. She tried out the Upapa but found that no much feel after using it as it only "hammer" your back. Then the Sales guy introduced Isqueez to her & she has the same comment for it. Then he tried to introduce different ways of using Isqueez & finally mum felt that the Isqueez is squeezing her feet (lol). I believed she started to "love" it but we didn't buy it cos it is too expensive.

After much thoughts, I spoke to sis & we decided to buy the Isqueez (by instalments) for her as Mother's Day present. Got to thank her for helping out!!!

Another 1/2 day leave

Again, another 1/2 day leave today to make sure they are ready for their Science paper tomorrow.

I really felt that doing these last minute couldn't help much but if I don't do it, wouldn't it be worst or I'm frightening myself with these thoughts? Basically I can only go through the assessment books & reading to them the summarised notes in these books.

What I can do is pray hard that they are able to absorb all... ...

Took urgent leave to drill my kids on Maths

Got no choice but to go on urgent leave to make sure that Randson revise his Maths today.

Took 1/2 day to coach my kids

Took 1/2 pm leave today as my kids will be back from school by 4.30pm so we can start to revise Maths when they are back.

Wow... ... Randson went to sleep at 7pm after having his dinner & he didn't get to revise his work. Oh no... ... I believed he is the one whom required more revision than the others.

Same thing happened to the other boys, Nickson is unwilling to revise or do any of his assessment & Johnson did it cos he wanted to be a Guardian player in Adventure Quest. What kind of world is this, I'm trying my very best to stay home to teach or coach them (though it is last minute work), they are trying to find tons of excuses not to do so.

Little Baby Tiger

Johnson & Nickson caught a caterpillar from their school & reared it as their pet cos Nickson wanted to see how the caterpillar becomes a butterfly. As times passed by, it started to stick onto the cover of the container & hibernate.

Today it has become a butterfly & flew off. They are unable to capture a picture of the butterfly as everyone was so excited to see it transforming, however they managed to capture a picture of the "left behind" cocoon. Isn't it cute, life is a miracle.

Nickson named it Little Baby Tiger cos it is a Tiger butterfly.

Appreciating your child

Finally I have completed this book - how to love your child & spend time with your child.

Parents put in their best effort & patience to their children when they started to learn walking & talking. Hence we should give them the same kind of support & patience in all their learnings.

No talking Day

Today is Labour Day & also "No Talking Day" at home. A quiet day!!!
