Still in office

I'm still in office, another hour to go before we can leave for home (hopefully we can go home on time, 2359).

Life is not easy... ... very angry, very happy all within the day!!!

Happy cos we have lots of food (greedy pig).
Angry because ... ... you you & you ... ... hiaz, give up!!! Who ask you to be Mentor???

Attitude?

Wow, some people really got attitude one leh… 静狗咬死人!!!

Work late

I hated to work late (another 1 more day to go)... ...

1. Allyson had fever since Sunday & mum brought her for review yesterday & was advised to do a blood test if fever does not subside by Friday. - I can't be by her side!!!

2. Randson complained that his cheek is painful again - oh no, it was swollen & hopefully not mumps again. - I can't monitor this cos I have to work, work, work.

3. I can't have my dinner at the right time, I only get to eat when I reached home at 9pm or 10pm or even later. - No one buy dinner cos no transport (partly to save $ also)!!!

4. Too much work, too stress - non-stop of munching in the office especially with Low around, chocolates, cakes, biscuits, crackers, etc!!!



We (Low, Latha & me) went to JL Mega Sales during lunchtime & we bought these to decorate our workstation, preparing for Christmas!!! (Trying very hard to fight the monthend stress)

Doubts???

Life is full of doubts & you have to ask questions to clear your doubts. But when you are given an answer, you are not satisfied & wanted to find a better answer.

Trimmed my hair

Can't decide - James or Ivan (hair stylist)???
Ivan has been working on my hair for the past 4 years, perhaps, I should have a change since James did my hair in Sep 2007.

So I gave the choice to the receptionist at Storm, I walked in at about 6.30pm & I checked with her whom is available & immediately she told me James. Ok, she decided for me.

Then the next moment, I saw James & Ivan charged towards me & said, "Oh, is you" cos the receptionist told them that there is a customer whom is looking for Ivan or James. After a short chat with them, I had my hair treatment & trimming... not much different from the previous cut/perm but I loved these 2 blurred/dark photos...hehehe

Trip to Terminal 3

We went to the Food Fair after Randson's class & while waiting for the train at Expo, we met Joyce (about 50 years old). She told me that she is a travel agent manager & she is on the way to Changi Airport T3 cos it is opened for the public before their official opening & she suggested that I should bring my kids there. While in the train, she told me that she is a professor (Business & Law) with NUS & she is from Canada & stayed in the hostel on her own. She read about the T3 Open House & parked her car nearby to Expo & wanted to catch the train to T3...(I'm blurred???). Anyway, we have nothing much to do so we took the train to Changi Airport with her.

Upon reaching T2, we took the skytrain to T3 & it is really a big big place!!! She told me that the new T3 is run by solar energy (read fm papers) & we walked around the place. It is not fully completed & there isn't any airplane seen from the Viewing Mall. The kids didn't really like the trip as there was too much walking. Randson was quite rude when he answered Joyce's question & I stopped him from being rude but Joyce said that "it is ok cos nowadays kids have their own thinking & we have to agree to what they said & tell them what should be the right way to answer instead". We spent about an hour plus at the airport & took a bus back home. The kids must be too tired after the long walk & they slept in the bus.
Didn't have a chance to take photo as there was too much walking & talking. Managed to capture these 2 pics while Joyce is away to see the souvenirs.

Prize Giving Day

LG is unable to attend the Prize Giving ceremony & I dragged mum along with me cos she didn't want to go initially cos she wanted to watch the 4.30pm drama series.

The parents were seated right behind the Hall & I'm afraid my camera is unable to shoot that far so I passed my digital camera to Johnson & I'm holding on to my handphone & hope I can shoot a video of the presentation.

The program started with the Principal speech & the prize presentation started immediately after this. When they started to read out the Best Progress Prize winners' name, I got my video ready & found that it wasn't working...aiyah what went wrong???

Then when I try to convert to "camera", the prize winners were walking down the stage...

I was so angry with myself at that moment & hopefully Johnson managed to capture a few shoots. What a disappointment, he did & these are the 3 blur shots :

Pleasant Surprise!!!

Cynthia was telling me this morning that York is going to attend his son's prize giving day & I told her, don't tell me about this, I don't have such chance one (not that I look down on my kids cos I knew that they are just average children).

Work throughout the day without stop, attending to queries & concalls.


Received a call from Randson's teacher complaining that Randson did not return the Travelling declaration form & she shouted at Randson at the other end of the line when I say I didn't see the form & my heart hurted.


Have to get mum to fetch the kids from school as I have to work late again, in order to finish up my stuff.


Promised to fetch Randson from his abacus class & work till 9.10pm & realised that if I don't leave the office at this time, I'll be late. Luckily my office is just 10-15 mins drive from home.


Upon reaching home, I saw this letter on my table :


Yippy yippy, I can attend my son's Prize Giving Day too, Randson is awarded the Best Progress Prize!!! First time leh, first time I'm going to my son's school to attend Prize Giving... I'm so excited & I jumped with joy. Everyone in the family of shock, my mum thought I'm crazy why am I jumping around the house...

Immediately I sms most of my friends & colleagues to inform them of the good news & I believed they would think that I'm silly cos most of their kids are high flyers in school but I don't care, I wanted to tell the whole world that my son is going on stage to receive a prize!!! I'm so happy till I don't feel hungry... ... I believed I have over-reacted & my vision is blurred... ... What should I do on the Prize Giving Day, should I go right in front of the stage to take a photo of Randson when he received the prize???

Aiyah, better get changed & eat lah...

Report Books & Academic Achievement Awards

The school gave out the report books & thank God, all of them passed with Band 3, except Nickson had Band 4 for his Chinese. I’m glad that they passed their exams & promoted to the next level.

Well done!!!
Nickson was awarded a silver badge for most improved for Mathematics, while Randson was awarded a silver badge for most improved for Chinese.

I can’t remember when I’m older

Mummy – Nickson, can you give mummy 50% of your pay when you start working? Da-ge say will give mummy 50%.

Nickson – Ok lor.

Mummy – You sure hor.

Nickson – Hahaha, next time I big I cannot remember liao.

My own time

Things to do today :
1. appointment with the Nutritionist at Health Promotion Board (for Randson)
2. sent my kids to school.

From 1.30pm to 6pm are my own time, I promised myself to make a trip to Giant Tampines as I have not been there before & I fulfilled my promise today.

Confused???

Was told that my colleague will be doing the compliance testing & SAP testing on Monday & now there is a change of plan or perhaps I really hear the wrong thing on Monday. My colleague will only be involved in compliance testing & not SAP testing… huh??? Anyway, as explained by my teamlead, Superuser should be the one doing the testing so that they are able to know/understand the system & helped other to resolve problems. Ok, what to do, accept the fact, plan is plan & it can be changed. Life is full of changes!!!

Heart attack!!!

After coming back from the doctor, finally I have the chance to take a good look at my kids’ SA2 papers. Johnson did not do well in this exam & all his marks are of borderline cases, I blamed him for not studying well but he shouted back, “it is all your fault, who ask you to send me for tuition? You sat down with me & revised my work for SA1 & I got good results, see now you send me for tuition, my result dropped!”

My heart sank & eyes flooded…mummy has no time to revise with you so I get a tutor to help you & yet now you are pointing your finger at me, is it really my fault??? Remember your theory of “no computer, no study”, so now, does your theory of “got computer, got study” works? If yes, why your standard has dropped so much? Does pointing a finger at your mum while 4 pointing at yourself helped you to clear your guilt?

Tired…very tired

I was on medical leave last Thurs & Fri after the long hours of work for the past few days supporting the monthend closing. Perhaps with the kids’ examination stress & I have been working late most of the days after taking over the new Mentor & SAP superuser role, I felt that I’m really drained out.

When can we have a reorg? When will the things that we have discussed previously be put into action? Was glad that one of my colleague will be taking up the new role of compliance testing & SAP testing, finally I can drop the testing part & this is part of the plan which I was told.

Mumps attack

Randson had a fever since last Friday & mum called to say that he still have fever so I’ll have to bring him to the doctor again. On the way to the doctor, we met his Chinese teacher & she praised Randson for achieving at least 70% in his SA2 as compared to the 30% for SA1. She is going to give him a silver badge as a form of recognition, isn’t it great!!! I’m really glad to hear that & happened to touch his cheek & he shouted, “OUCH!!! Pain!!!”

OMG, his right cheek near his ear area was swollen & doctor confirmed that he has mumps. Hiaz, really hope he recover soon, it must be super painful.

I asked the doctor should I get someone born in the year of Tiger to write “虎” (tiger in Chinese) on his cheek, Dr Ong laughed & said, “if you believe that, you can try out.” Heeheehee, I did that by asking Nickson to write “虎” on both of Randson’s cheek. The kids were so curious why am I doing this, I told them, “Mumps are also called 猪头皮 so we have to write 虎 to eat up the pig, then he will recover.” I know you must be laughing at me in believing this kind of old maid’s tale but if it does help to cure him, I would do it.

P.S. Wanted to say “thank you” to Dr Ong but I was at a loss of words, I wanted to say “Thank you Dr Ong for giving me discount whenever my kids are here for treatment, I really need & appreciate this!!!” I will do it the next time I see him (of cos I wish I don’t have to see him, heehee) cos life is unpredictable, if you love someone, tell him/her you love them & if you need to show your appreciation, do it while you can.

Sore eyes & bodyache

After the long long hours of work, finally I’m down!!! Sore sore eyes & pain pain body!!! Why must the flu bug keep bothering me? Sms my teamlead & promised her I’ll run the report & quotes in the afternoon.

I dropped dead on my bed till 3.20pm, Latha sms me & offered to help to run the quotes, I must be too sick, why didn’t I think of that earlier??? Kind of guilty to fall sick, whereby Geraldine has to back me up & Latha has been helping me with my orders for the past few weeks due to the SAP testing. I am really grateful for all the great help my team mates have extended to me.
