Saturday... Working day!!!

Why must quarterend fall on Saturday??? I have been working late for the past few nights & past midnight yesterday.

Woke up at 7am, brought Randson for his Morris Allen class at 8am & asked mum to pick him up after the class while I rushed to office at 10.30am. Upon reaching, not everyone was here yet & my counterparts were not in too. No new orders (except pending issue) for me to work on for my countries & I was sitting here clearing my own reports & enjoying the "chilling" aircondition.

What a day...accompanied Ginny to Bedok North hawker centre to purchase dinner for everyone & after that I thought I can leave for the day, yet approval was received for a "complicated" pending order & I have to settle this. Spent about half an hour explaining to the channel sales & he don't understand what Xindy & I trying to tell him & luckily we managed to get hold of another channel sales & he knew what to do within the next 5 mins (OMG - are training provided???).

Btw, today was Khim's last day with us, Madelene & Christie were going around teasing her & wished she could cry on her last day just like Kym whom left us in March, however no teardrop was seen today & they blamed me for making Khim laughed while she was hugging Ginny, they expected them to cry out (however I think they were really going to cry cos I could feel that Ginny really adore her). Hiaz, why must they made them cry? Leaving was kind of sad (especially everyone here were so nice) & why can't we depart with laughter & good memories of others? Isn't it better?

Oh ya, she bought presents for everyone & this is from her cos she hope I can win 4D or TOTO...lol.

Graciousness

Randson has been telling me that he helped his Chinese teacher to carry her bag everyday & he was smiling away when he told me this. He must be very happy to help his teacher & I found this "card" on the table today & he told me, this is from his teacher (can you imagine, he got it since 25 May 2007 & he left it unnoticed till I found it).

NKF medical checkup

Went for NKF medical checkup today, passed everything except Body Fats, exceeded by 0.4% but according to Geraldine, she did a similar body fats test in Mar & she passed that but failed this in the recent NKF medical checkup too, maybe the machine is not working well cos I passed this every year too. However my blood pressure was still on the high side (though within the safe range), better take care ... cos I have family history of hypertension.

Went to the beach

We went to the beach after our usual lunch at Changi Village coffeeshop. Upon reaching there, the kids were so eager to rush down to the seaside & playing with the waves.

We found a shady spot & I managed to build sandcastles with Allyson, however it was unsuccessful. So I decided to make some "sand crabs & aeroplane", nice?

After taking this shot, the rain started to pour... ... hiaz what a day??? This ended our trip to the beach.

P.S. First time I have chance playing sands with my kids & it ended so fast because of the rain, I will be back!!!

Apple soup

Ever seen Madelene & Christie having pork rib apple soup at Simei & found a similar recipe from the cookbook so I decided to give it a try today.

The taste was okay but still not quite used to "fruit" soup. So we drank the soup without eating the apples.

Cockles & Stingray for dinner - part 2

You are not seeing double, we were at Changi Village hawker centre again. Having the same dishes - cockles, mussels, stingray, fried egg with prawn, vegetable (kangkong - only difference) & assorted fruit juice.

Then we had durians for supper again!
These are our favourite food & fruits & we will never get tired of them... lol... a greedy family.

Back to work

Alamak, LG brought the kids out to play at the beach while I was working in the office. So jealous!!!

Cockles & Stingray for dinner

Yummy yummy, Nickson fallen deeply in love with cockles while Johnson loved stingray. So we have our dinner at the Changi Village hawker centre with cockles, stingray, mussels, seafood fried eggs, vegetable (sweet potato leaves) & a glass of assorted fruit juice!!!

After dinner, we celebrated Daddy's birthday & we had durians for supper!

Daddy's birthday

Wow LG took leave to stay at home to take care of the kids & he will only be back to work on 25 June 2007. I have requested to take leave on the 21st & 22nd but was rejected & I can only go on leave today (only 1 day, cannot 2 days).

We bought Forest Fantasy to celebrate his birthday & I could feel that LG was very happy today, though he act cool & didn't smile (but was captured by the camera).

Johnson & Allyson were with me at the cake shop & Allyson kept dragging me to the nearest shop where she claimed she was going to buy her daddy a birthday present. I was quite surprised by her act, she knew that she has to buy birthday present for her Daddy cos it was his birthday (not bad, keep it up!).

So Johnson suggested body spray/deodorant for Daddy & we bought one from Watsons. The Watsons cashier was very helpful when I asked if they have available wrapping papers for my kids whom have bought this as a birthday present for their dad. Without further delay, she went to the office to search for "leftover" wrapper which they had for Christmas & helped us to wrap our gift. I was touched by her act & she's really a GEMS (of cos I can hear the lady behind us, grumbling about the extra minutes she has to wait).

What's there to grumble about :

1. Shouldn't she feel proud that there was such an excellent customer service staff in Singapore???
2. If these were her kids, wouldn't she want the Cashier to do the same?

Put yourself in others' shoes before you start grumbling ok!!!

Trip to Science Centre

Daddy brought us to Science Centre this afternoon, the kids were so eager to play at the Water Works & were impatient when we were walking/looking around within the Science Centre premises.

This was the second time we visited the Water Works & it was very crowded. Did not capture any pictures at the Water Works as my digital camera failed to capture outdoor photos... sad.

ADHD

Khim knew that I was worried about Randson, so she helped me to gather more information on his behaviours & gave me the term "ADHD".

Managed to find the meaning in the internet : Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. Wow...(fainted)

Just because I was on leave last Friday, I have to work late to clear my stuff... ... hiaz!!!

Father's Day cards

Asked the kids if they would like to a card for their dad but they were too lazy to do so.

Then when Johnson started to make his card, the rest followed.

Daddy was busy trimming his plants at the corridor while the kids busy with their drawings & they were so afraid that Daddy got to see what they were drawing.
Once they have completed the cards, Johnson & Nickson were too shy to give it to Daddy & Randson has to do the job.

Daddy, are you glad to see these cards?

Happy Father's Day!

Not sure what to cook today, while shopping at Shop n Save, Randson suggested we should have steamboat for dinner.

Just nice, we can celebrate Father's Day!!!

How to draw a bear?

"Mummy mummy, how to draw a bear?" asked Allyson.

"Look at your bear bear & draw." answered Mummy.

Allyson, Mummy is very proud of you!!!

Chestnut soup

Found the above recipe from one of the cookbook & we tried peeling the chestnut shell, wow it was really hard. Johnson, Randson & Allyson helped me in peeling off the skin & we took quite a long time to complete the task. Luckily I bought another packet which is already shelled...heehee

Trip to Haw Par Villa (虎豹别墅)

We planned to go Haw Par Villa today but it started to rain in the morning, were quite worried but luckily the rain stopped about 12 noon.

We took a train to Buona Vista & from there we were supposed to take Bus 200 to Haw Par Villa. We waited at the wrong bus stop & have to go all the way back to the MRT station to cross over the bridge to the other side of the road to take the bus. We waited for about 20 mins & there is no sign of Bus 200 & the weather was so warm that the kids started to grumble. So no choice, we took a cab to Haw Par Villa instead.

Upon reaching there, their eyes were wide opened & shouted, "Wow, this is such a big place. We thought it is quite small when Daddy drove past the other day."

We proceeded immediately to the "Ten Courts of Hell" & the kids were amazed by the sculptures there but I believed they were quite fearful of the punishments & Johnson kept on asking, "Mummy, if we do a little bad things & lots of good things, will we be going onto the silver bridge?" Kids don't worry, as long we do good things & not harming others, it would be ok.

Wow, this was the Haw Par brothers' villa & their Tiger car, so big & nice!

We bought a packet of the fish food from the restaurant to feed the fishes & tortoises, they seemed to be extremely hungry. Every fish food that was thrown in was eaten up immediately. Don't think much people visited Haw Par Villa now, my colleagues were asking me, "is it still around?" when I told them I'm going to bring my kids here (sad).

Beautiful memories of the place came into my mind, my grandma, dad & mum when we were here during my younger days. I really regretted, I should have made an effort to remember the stories which they have told me when we walked past every sculptures.

Some of the sculptures situated at the end of the Villa were running down, the painting peeled off & colour faded. By seeing this, my heart really sink... ... Isn't this a good place for us to teach our kids moral values but some of the displays (including those of filial piety) were fenced up due to the Circled line (MRT) constructions. What a disappointment!

This is a photo taken at the toilet, not bad, at least the toilet was well maintained. Btw, didn't know this plant do bear fruits.

Have to take more photos, just in case...

Kids, remembered the "Tae Gong" we saw in Maple Story, he fished without a hook. He is here in Haw Par Villa too.

"Mummy, panda panda, take photo take photo." Allyson shouted.

"I want to see Sumo." Nickson said. But when we were there, he refused to take a photo with the Sumo. However Allyson wanted me to carry her & took a photo with the Sumo, I was thinking, she might be quite scare cos the Sumo was so huge as compared to her size.

Well, the kids must have an enjoyable time here & we took Bus # 10 home & all of them fell asleep in the bus.

"Are you happy today, my lovely babies?"

Supper at Pasir Panjang Food Centre

Where is Penjuru Place, it is not found in the map. So the whole family went with Daddy to hunt for the place & after that we have a sumptuous supper at Pasir Panjang Food Centre (never get tired of the food there!!!).

Father's Day present

Allyson told me this when I fetched her from the childcare : "This is a bear for Father's Day! Happy Father's Day!"

Lion... lion

"Mummy Mummy, lion lion, I make a lion." said Allyson.

Decision made

Really hated this, keep rushing us for an answer. Knew about the closed down on 1 June, meeting with new operator on 8 June & visited LV Changi Airport on 9 June & they expected us to let them know what is our plan on 11 June.

I was greeted by one of the childcare teacher this morning & asking for my decision & was told I have to advise them before noon... ... hey, we were not buying a stalk of chilli or spring onion from the market, we were asked to make a decision where to put our kids & this will very much affect his/her future & our budget, furthermore, LV was unable to give us a firm confirmation on how the transport arrangement would be like if we would like to go the Changi Airport branch & according to them, they are waiting for our advice in order to plan. Really drop my case... no sincerity shown at all.

I have dropped an email to the new operator on Friday & really appreciated their prompt reply. Hence after a phonecall with them, I decided to stay with the new operator where they agreed the fee which I am paying now will remain the same & a set of free uniform will be given to all kids whom joined them on 1 Aug 2007. Hiaz, what can I ask for more? Just bear for another 4 months & Allyson can start her learning journey with PCF.

However I might consider to let her continue with Carpe Diem based on their performance.

Btw, I hated to be pushed around, I prefer concrete answer & good customer service.

Playing at the playground

Not sure if they were really tired but when they saw the playground, their eyes were wide open!!!

So this was the "Dinosaurs' playground" which they used to tell me.

Early dinner at Swensons

After visiting Learning Vision we decided to walk around the airport. Johnson requested to have dinner at Swensons. They enjoyed the food & while Swensons were having promotion on "Pirate of the Carribean", Nickson & Allyson decided to wear the bandana.

As usual after eating, they will play with their plates & leftover. We have a mini earthquake & Johnson found that the small piece of dry ice in the bowl blew bubbles after he added some ice-cream into it. Hence he started to add the leftover fresh cream & tomato sauce... ...

Johnson : Nothing to add already.
Randson : Have have.
Allyson (without talking) took the bowl of mayonnaise & having a sly smile on her face.
Johnson happily added in the mayonnaise, the bubbles continued to grow bigger & bigger, just like an erupting volcano.
Johnson : Nothing already.
All of them staring at the lettuce... then Allyson torn some small pieces & decorate on the bowl. Nickson added some chilli flakes to it...

Didn't know I have a team of scientists with me at Swensons.

After that we went to the viewing gallery to look at airplanes but they weren't interested anymore as they were too tired after the whole day outing. So we took a bus home & the kids have a short nap in the bus (didn't know airport is only 2 bus stops away from home). Luckily they woke up before alighting.

Trip to Learning Vision @ Changi Airport

We were invited to visit the Learning Vision at Changi Airport & one way transport was provided. It was so much bigger as compared to the present LV & the works done there are more colourful too (maybe this has to do with the school fee that they paid, was told they charge $650 at Changi Airport as compared to the $560 in St 33).

I believed the kids loved the place very much as it was so much bigger & air-conditioned, however I felt that it will be too cold for Allyson as I can feel the cold underneath my feet when I was walking around the Centre & even in the bathing area, we were able to feel the air-condition.

The kids were more interested with the playground outside the centre & they perspired alot out there. Was told by another parent, it would not be good for kids to play out there & go straight to air-conditioned immediately after outdoor games, hiaz another thumb down.

There was a short meeting with the Operations Manager & was told that most of the things are not finalised yet as they were waiting for our responses as to where we would like to send our children & we have to give them an answer by coming Monday... headache again.

Meeting with Carpe Diem

Carpe Diem (the new childcare operator) has arranged a meeting with us at 7pm & quite a lot of parents turned up. Looking at the handouts which they have provided, it seemed like they are providing a more "rounded" form of teaching, eg Arts, music, role-playing etc.

Can't really decide where to put Allyson yet cos there are too much unknown on uniform & fees etc.

Attended another Maple wedding

2 of my buddies in Maple got married last Friday, the wedding was at 10.30pm but we were out doing delivery with Daddy. Reached home about 11.15pm & managed to capture some photos.

Capture some interesting pics of Allyson in Childcare - Part II

Remember the Chingay Float which I have made for the Go Kart Rally... hiaz lost to these winners. Allyson was unable to use the remote control (or she has forgotten to bring it along with her to the Rally site) so she has to drag & carry it all the way to the Finished line.

Hey, why didn't you join in the fun of painting & sticking?

This must be the food that caused you to go toilet for several times ... ... luckily you are alright!

Capture some interesting pics of Allyson in Childcare - Part I

This is the first photo I saw in the website provided by Teacher Ling, the caption was - "??...??.... (no respond)" said Allyson. Another was taken with Caitlin & having similar expression. Are you unhappy in school?

As I went on, finally there were some photos of smiling faces.
Smiling widely with her first best friend, Si Ya (too bad, Si Ya's mother has withdrawn her from the childcare when the fees went up). I was told by Zhou 老师 that both started when they were sleeping side by side during naptime & Si Ya used to speak to Allyson in Mandarin while Allyson would reply in English but both of them were able to communicate & became best friends.

Here's some photos of them going to Sentosa, my poor girl have a fall that day & hurted her knee which she still remembered till this day.
